Expo Admission is FREE for children! The trail is located in the Ballroom. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times; this is not a childcare area, but a place where kids and their parents can learn together. |
Calling all EcoKids to hit the trail and discover new ways to help live a greener, more positive tomorrow! Our fun begins with a trail map that guides children to activities along the trail. As each station is completed, kids receive a badge to put on their map and a special gift at the end of the trail when they collect all the badges.
Stops along the trail include:
Earth — ZeroWaste
ZeroWaste aims to bring awareness to manufacturing companies so they take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their products and packaging. Interactively learn the difference between recycling, composting and goods that go to the landfill.
Air — Ecotarium
Explore the powerful resources we can tap into with the simple joy of a pinwheel! Children will discover the power of wind as a renewable energy resource.
Water — Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook
Help your child learn more about the natural resource under our feet with the Blackstone Watershed Project. Children will discover the creatures that call it home and strategies people use to store and conserve water. Children can make origami frogs and join in our frog races throughout the day in our activity space, or go “fishing” in Fisherville Pond.
Ether — Colorful Mind Design, LLC
Children will string together gratitude garlands from elements of Earth and unique goodies to take with them as a way to say thanks for all the positive parts of their day, including their wish for a more positive tomorrow.
Fire — Activity Space
For an energizing selection of performances, workshops and activities check out the schedule of events for kids or see what’s cooking in this space along the trail, including a cozy nook of books and toys for low energy down time.
